We are finding innovative ways every year to enhance our students’ learning experience. One day, students may work with a new computer-based program to improve their reading and math skills and be outside learning about nature the next. Learn more about our programs below.
Dyslexia Interventionist Services
Northside Elementary provides Dyslexia Interventionist Services. This service provides intensive and targeted reading services by a certified interventionist. This service is essential in helping our students achieve academic success. For more information, please contact our main office.
Mustangs of the Month
Northside Elementary recognizes the contributions and accomplishments of all our students. Once a month, we nominate students who have gone above and beyond, demonstrating the Mustang characteristics that support our motto of being safe and respectful learners. Prekindergarten
The Elko County Early Childhood Special Education Program is committed to the continued growth and development of children ages three through five years. Through this program, our early childhood education teachers address all aspects of communication, cognition, social-emotional, and motor skill development. The various components of this special education program provide individualized services to children who meet eligibility requirements.
Eligibility Requirements
- The child must be three to five years old.
- The child must be an Elko County resident.
- The child’s parent/guardian must complete the assessment process.
- The child must meet eligibility requirements established by the state of Nevada.

STEM Fair
We encourage every student to participate and engage in our science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs as well as our annual fair. For more information, please contact your child’s teacher.

Watch D.O.G.S
We are happy to welcome our volunteer moms, dads, and caregivers to this program. Our Watch Dogs assist our students in the classrooms, in the lunchroom, and during recess. They also patrol the halls and promote family relationships. Northside has a few rules we’d like you to follow.
- Please notify the school at least three days prior to the day you plan to attend.
- We might ask parents to assist in a similar grade level room.
- Please refrain from using your cell phone while you’re on duty.
- Please adhere to all of Northside’s rules and regulations, including dress code and respectful attitude.
- Please complete the survey in the office at 2:50 p.m. or prior to leaving the school.
